Tuition

Students in the Jacobs School of Music pay the regular in-state or out-of-state tuition for Indiana University as well as a $800 per-semester music program fee.

Fellowships and Assistantships

For more information about fellowships and assistantships, check with the Office of Music Admission and Financial Aid or with the department to which you are applying for graduate study.

The following merit awards are available on a competitive basis:

  • Chancellor's Fellowships for eligible new doctoral students provide an assistantship with fee remission and a stipend.
  • Music scholarships and fellowships provide competitive, partial-tuition awards.
  • Educational Opportunity Fellowships for students whose socio-economic backgrounds may have caused them to be educationally disadvantaged are administered through the University Graduate School.

Need-Based Aid

Federal Graduate Loans (FAFSA), including Perkins and Stafford loans, and Federal Work-Study are available to eligible U.S. citizens and permanent residents.
