IMPORTANT NEWS AND UPDATES (March 27, 2015)
Information sessions are held at the Jacobs School of Music Mon.-Fri., from 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. Click here to schedule your visit.
Next steps for applicants: All applicants will be notified of their admissions decision by mail, as soon as possible after their audition. Please note, IU and the Jacobs School of Music have a modified rolling admissions policy. Therefore, some applicants may receive a decision within a few weeks of their audition or interview, and others may not receive notification for several weeks. All applicants who submitted a complete admission application by the application deadline, will have notification of a decision by April 7, 2015.
Next steps for new admits: Once admitted to Indiana University, new admits to the undergraduate programs at the Jacobs School of Music should complete these steps for enrollment, including setting up their IU computing account. All admitted international students should submit additional documentation to the Office of International Services. Faculty studio assignments will be made by the Music Advising Office. Admitted students may contact professors regarding studio availability prior to the finalization of studio assignments during the first week of classes.
Financial aid: Merit-based award decisions will be communicated via email by our office, by April 7. Please note, you will be notified separately from the admissions decision. All applicants to the Jacobs School of Music are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships based upon their audition and/or interview results. No separate scholarship application is required for Jacobs School of Music awards. You may apply for need–based financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Notifications of need-based aid from the Office of Student Financial Assistance will not include merit-based awards from our office. Feel free to contact Student Central on Union with questions about need-based aid.
Housing: Applications for on-campus housing are now available. Please refer to Residential Programs and Services for more details. Graduate students should also refer to the University Graduate School.
