A Ph.D. student in musicology, Lopes also serves as a visiting lecturer and research coordinator for the Latin American Music Center. “The musicology faculty here is superb, as well as the library resources,” he says. “The Latin American Music Center is one of the best academic resources of its kind in the world.”

Each year approximately 320 students from more than 50 countries around the world come to the IU Jacobs School of Music to pursue undergraduate and graduate degrees.
