La Rondine (The Swallow) New Production by Giacomo Puccini on February 26, 27 and March 5, 6 at 8pm

This Bird You Cannot Change

Set in mid-19th-century Paris
Magda begins as wealthy Rambaldo’s jaded mistress, but Prunier’s poetic ballad restores her faith in love. Inspired, she disguises herself as a shop girl to pursue her romantic dream. While acting under her alias, Magda finds love with Ruggero, only to realize that she must choose between wedded bliss and telling the truth. In the end, like a swallow, she flies back to Rambaldo, leaving Ruggero heartbroken.

Sung in Italian with English supertitles
