Auditions for X070 Choral Ensemble placement for fall 2008 will take place on the following dates and times.

Wednesday August 27 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Thursday August 28 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Friday August 29 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Tuesday September 2nd from 12:30 - 5:00 & 6:00 - 10:00 p.m.
Wednesday September 3rd from 12:30 - 5:00 p.m.

Callbacks for University Singers, Pro Arte, Contemporary Vocal Ensemble & University Chorale will be on Thursday & Friday, September 4 & 5 from 2:30 - 6:00 p.m.

We encourage all students enrolled in X070 to schedule your choral ensemble auditions as early in the audition process as possible.
For students who plan to audition for roles in the IU Opera Theater, we recommend that you schedule your choral ensemble audition during the week before classes begin so that you can give your full attention to your opera audition the following week.

Joerg Ritter - March 17 - April 25, 2008

We invite you to the last choral colloquium of the academic year, this Friday

from 4 to 5:30 in MA452, with guest faculty Jörg Ritter.  He will
discuss "Professional Choral Singing in Europe."

Jörg Ritter has been the Choral Director of the WDR Radio Choir Cologne
since March 2004 and guest conductor since 2002. He studied conducting,
choral direction, and lied accompaniment, as well as school music and
classical philology, in Cologne and Karlsruhe, and was granted a scholarship
by the EU to study in Vienna, where his early mentors included Kurt Moll,
Sir Neville Marriner, and Claudio Abbado. For several years he worked as
soloist coach and conductor at the Cologne Opera. Mr. Ritter has worked in
Germany and abroad as an orchestra and choir conductor with the National
Polish Radio Orchestra Kattowitz, the Radio Symphony Orchestra Bratislava,
the German Symphony Orchestra Berlin, the Hallé Orchestra, the Dutch Radio
Choir, and the Czech Philharmonic Choir, among many other ensembles. He also
has performed extensively as a pianist, both in recital and on recordings.
He is also the master choral teacher at the Summer Music Academy of
Montepulciano in Italy.
