The Secondary/Elective Guitar Program  provides elective guitar instruction, and elective guitar classes for non-music majors.

Course descriptions:

L100/Z110 Individual classical guitar lessons, 50 minutes each week. Additional
applied fee. Time scheduled with instructor. Classical guitar required.
No previous experience required.

L101 Introduction to  acoustic and classical guitar techniques employed in
contemporary guitar finger style and chordal structured music playing,
including basic music theory and note reading. No previous experience
required.

L102  Expanding on acoustic and classical guitar techniques employed in
contemporary guitar playing with emphasis on finger style playing, note
reading and guitar music theory. Prerequisites: L101 and/or ability to read
music and play chord structures proficiently.

L103 Classical: Introduction to Classical guitar music and techniques with
expanding on music reading to the  level of basic sight reading.
Prerequisites:  L102 and/or ability to read music on guitar and play basic
finger styles proficiently.

L103 Topics: please refer to the current schedule of classes for
description
