Brent Gault

Associate Professor of Music

Brent M. Gault holds a Ph.D (The Hartt School, University of Hartford, 2000), M.M. (Silver Lake College, 1996), and B.M.E. (Baylor University, 1991).  He has taught elementary and early childhood music courses in Texas, Wisconsin, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Indiana. He specializes in elementary general music education, early childhood music education, and Kodály methodology. Gault also has training in both the Orff and Dalcroze approaches to music education. He has presented sessions and research at national conferences of the American Orff-Schulwerk Association, the Dalcroze Society of America, the Organization of American Kodály Educators, and MENC: The National Association for Music Education. In addition, he has served as a presenter for regional, state and local music education organizations throughout the United States. Articles by Gault have been published in various music education periodicals, including the Bulletin of the Council for Research in Music Education, the Journal of Research in Music Education, Music Educators Journal, General Music Today, the Kodály Envoy, the Orff Echo, and the American Dalcroze Journal. In addition to his duties in the Music Education Department, Gault serves as the program director for the Indiana University Children’s Choir, where he conducts the Boy’s Choir. Gault is currently President of the Organization of American Kodály Educators.
