An introductory course in computer programming, with an emphasis on the representation and manipulation of musical information. Neither prior computer programming experience nor a background in mathematics is necessary. Students should be familiar with standard music theoretical devices, especially those commonly used for the analysis of atonal music. The course will cover essential elements of the C++ programming language.
