Dr. Kielian-Gilbert has taught at the Universities of Michigan and Oregon. She is currently vice-president of the Society for Music Theory, and is a member of several editorial boards, including Perspectives of New Music. Her articles have appeared in a number of journals including Journal of Musicology, Music Perception, Music Theory Spectrum, Nineteenth-Century Music, and Perspectives of New Music. Her recent work deals with feminist theory and music analysis, Stravinsky and the aesthetics of twentieth-century music, and links between music theory and cultural studies.
