Dr. Wennerstrom's publications include articles and reviews in journals such as Journal of Music Theory Pedagogy, Intégral, Music Theory Spectrum, In Theory Only, and Indiana Theory Review. She has also published music editions, a chapter in Aspects of Twentieth-Century Music and theory texts and anthologies, including the Anthology of Twentieth-Century Music. She has been treasurer of the Society for Music Theory and Chair of the Advanced Placement Test Development Committee in Music for the Educational Testing Service. She is also a former editor of the Journal of Music Theory Pedagogy and is past Chair of the Committee of Examiners for the GRE Revised Music Exam. She is the recipient of a President's Distinguished Teaching Award from Indiana University, and in 2006 was awarded the Gail Boyd de Stwolinski Prize for Lifetime Achievement in Music Theory Teaching and Scholarship. Prof. Wennerstrom served as chair of the music theory department until her appointment as Associate Dean for Instruction, Fall 2002.
