Seattle Symphony Orchestra features Chris LaRosa
Christopher LaRosa's The Tide Jewels wins the Seattle Symphony Orchestra's "Celebrate Asia" competition. Conducted by Shizuo Z. Kuwahara, the orchestra will perform LaRosa's symphonic work on May 12 at Benaroya Hall in Seattle.

Kimberly Osborg (MM '16)
Kimberly Osberg has just launched a national consortium collective as their executive director. The Libera Composers Association is a collaboration between composers and band directors to bring new, highly crafted music to high school ensembles and connect the students to the composers who create it. Premieres of five new works for band will occur throughout the United States in the 2017 calendar year, and also in Japan! To read more about the project, the composers, and the works, click here. Texu Kim (DM '15)
Texu Kim (DM '15) receives 2016 Copland House Residency award. The Residents will live and work, one at a time, for three to eight weeks in the prairie-style, hilltop house near New York City that Copland called "my hideaway, my solitude," and was his home from 1960 to 1990. As Copland House Residents, they will also become eligible for post-residency awards, commissions, and various performance and recording opportunities from the Music from Copland House ensemble that advance their work, including the Sylvia Goldstein Award, Borromeo String Quartet Award, Hoff-Barthelson Music School Commission, and others.
