The Seasons of Sebastian

A Cycle of Johann Sebastian Bach's
Sacred and Secular Organ Works
Performed by Prof. Janette Fishell
This multiple-year cycle of the organ works of Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) is organized by the “sacred” and “secular” seasons of Bach’s life: the seasons of Bach’s life and work, performed on the Maidee H. and Jackson A. Seward Organ, C.B. Fisk, Opus 135 in Auer Hall on the campus of Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, and the seasons of his faith, performed in Bloomington churches. Additional recitals will be performed on instruments in other campus venues, including concerts on the Van Daalen organ of Beck Chapel, and works for manuals alone played on a portative organ in the Atrium of the IU Art Museum and the IU Auditorium’s historic Hall of Murals. All events are free and open to the public.
