The Jacobs School of Music Faculty Handbook, together with the School of Music Bulletin, provides essential information on regulations, procedures, and personnel in the School, and supplements the Indiana University Academic Handbook published by the Office of the Dean of the Faculties, the Academic Guide (IUB), and the Non-Tenure-Track Faculty Handbook. Information in this document does not supersede anything in either of the Handbooks, the Guide, or the School of Music Bulletin.

Faculty are urged to familiarize themselves with the School of Music Bulletin, and in particular with the curricular requirements for majors in their department. Much of the information in this Handbook is presented in greater detail in the Bulletin. Hard copies of the School of Music Bulletin 2007-09 are available in the associate dean for instruction’s office (mu117).
