The music library spans four floors of the Simon Center, with approximately 580,000 catalogued items. The Performing Ensembles Collection
contains more than 218,000 parts, including virtually all of the standard orchestral and choral repertoire. Many of the more than 130,000
sound recordings are unique or rare in the United States. The ongoing Variations Project has digitized more than 6,000 sound recordings
and scores. There are 140 networked, public-access computer workstations in the library. Thirty workstations in the Computer Classroom
have MIDI interfaces, piano keyboards, headsets, microphones, and analog/digital sound conversion devices.
