Membership and Benefits

Anyone with an interest in music is eligible to become a member of the Society of the Friends of Music. As a contributor to the Friends of Music, you will help provide scholarships and competition travel grants to Indiana University Jacobs School of Music students. In return you will receive not only the knowledge that your efforts have made a difference in a student’s life, but the following benefits as well:

• The Libretto, the Friends of Music newsletter.
• IU Music, the IU Jacobs School of Music magazine.
• Invitations to special events like the Fall Gala, the Travel Grant Competition, Free Membership Recital and Reception, and Opportunity to Volunteer for the Jacobs School of Music.

Additional benefits are available at certain levels of giving:

Guarantor Scholarship Circle - $5,000 and up

• Each donor is a designated sponsor of a specific scholarship student.
• Parking reservations are available at the Musical Arts Center for operas and ballets.
• Recognition in every opera and ballet program.

 Herman B Wells Circle - $1,000 to $4,999

• Parking reservations at the Musical Arts Center for operas and ballets.
• Recognition in every opera and ballet program.

Dean Wilfred Bain Circle - $100 to $999

• Recognition in every opera and ballet program.
