Jamey and Sara Aebersold Jazz Fellowship

Jamey Aebersold is a nationally-known saxophonist and authority on jazz education and improvisation, and has developed a series of Aebersold Play-A-Longs -- book and recording sets -- as well as various other supplemental aids for the development of improvisational skills. He has taught at three colleges and universities in the Louisville, Kentucky area and has made guest appearances in dozens of cities around the world. Jamey has been a driving force in America's native art form, Jazz, and continues to kindle the fires of musical imagination in those with who he comes in contact.

Each year the Jacobs School of Music is proud to award the Jamey and Sara Aebersold Jazz Fellowship to graduate students enrolled in the School who major in jazz studies.
