Charlotte Steinwedel Scholarship

Charlotte Ruth Curran Steinwendel graduated from Marion High School in Marion, Indiana. She then attended Indiana University from 1946 to 1950 and received a Bachelor degree in Education. While at IU she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority. She married Albert A. Steinwedel (BS, 1946) of Seymour, Indiana. Mr. Steinwedel was elected state auditor of Indiana in 1958 and was a democratic candidate for governor of Indiana in 1960.

Mrs. Steinwedel died June 5, 1976. The Charlotte Steinwedel Scholarship is awarded annually to students at the IU Jacobs School of Music.
