Olimpia Barbera Piano Music Collection

The Olimpia Barbera Piano Music Collection was donated to the LAMC in July 2010 by Mrs. Barbera herself.  It consists of almost one hundred and seventy scores of music for piano solo and two pianos, of which a little less than a third are by composers from Latin America, especially from Argentina, as well as Spain.  The Latin American composers represented are Julián Aguirre, Felipe Boero, Jacobo Fischer, Constantino Gaito, Carlos Guastavino, Alberto Ginastera, Nelly Mele Lara, Ángel E. Lasala, Ernesto Lecuona, Carlos López Buchardo, Ernesto Nazareth, Astor Piazzolla, Octavio Pinto, Pascual Quaratino, Ariel Ramirez, Pia Sebastiani, Alicia Terzian, Floro Ugarte, and Heitor Villa-Lobos.  It also includes additional miscellaneous materials, such as a volume of works for voice and piano by Rafael Hernández and a Sonatina per due violin by Pia Sebastiani.
