El Taller

El Taller was conceived as a core group within the Latin American Popular Music Ensemble, consisting of current and former graduate music performance majors, who have had extensive experience and training in the performance of Latin American popular music repertory either prior to joining the ensemble or through previous years of performing with the LAPME.

The members of El Taller aide new LAPME members, who have recently joined the ensemble to expand their stylistic musical vocabulary, in learning the nuances of performing Latin American popular music styles.

El Taller members not only contribute to the musical formation of new LAMPE members, but they are also heavily involved in choosing the repertory for the ensemble’s performances and recordings, creating arrangements tailored for the ensemble’s instrumentation showcasing individual members’ talents, as well as conceiving the artistic direction of each project.
