Chamber Music for Amateurs

May 31st to June 4th

Join us for the inaugural Chamber Music Seminar for Amateurs at the Jacobs School of Music! For the 2017 session, our focus will be strings, as well as piano and strings. Pre-formed chamber ensembles and individual players are welcome to apply.

This intensive seminar will consist of coaching, rehearsals, ensembles, yoga, concerts, lectures, and performances. Participants will receive expert coaching on a daily basis, with faculty members from the Pacifica String Quartet, the Jacobs School of Music, and the New World Symphony.

Participants will also perform in the larger ensembles (cello choir, viola choir, etc.) where the focus will be on both repertoire and technical aspects of their particular instrument. Informal performances of the quartets and larger ensembles will create culminating experiences for the session.
