Summer Vocal Symposium

The Vocal Symposium has been Cancelled this year.
We look forward to seeing you next year!
For Adult Vocal Educators

IU Summer Vocal Symposium is a series of workshops designed to provide professional development for vocal educators and singers.

During the four days of the workshop, join members of the prestigious Jacobs School of Music faculty as they lead discussions on unlocking students’ creativity, favorite strategies of vocal pedagogy, and Fearless Performing©.

Internationally established teacher Deborah Birnbaum will share her expertise in Bel Canto breath technique.  Using knowledge originating from private studies with renowned soprano Montserrat Caballé, Ms. Birnbaum has a unique ability to help singers assimilate the mechanics of Bel Canto breath support while working within the context of their vocal technique.  Widely sought after as a teacher and clinician, she regularly works with young artists at the Metropolitan Opera’s Lindemann Young Artists Program, Merola, and Houston Grand Opera, as well as master classes at many programs and universities.

A limited number of private sessions will be available for an additional fee.

Because of the intimate nature of our workshops, space is limited and reservations will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis.

Enjoy the quiet beauty of the IU campus as well as performances by the JSoM Faculty and students.
Register now and reserve your place for this engaging, informative and inspirational Symposium.
