Flying
It is highly recommended that if you are traveling to Bloomington by air, that you fly into the Indianapolis International Airport (IND). Flight arrivals into Indianapolis should be scheduled between 10:00 AM and noon on Sunday, June 9th. This span of time will allow for any delays, travel to Bloomington (about an hour), and arrival on campus for Registration and Check-In for the Summer Music Clinic.
Round-trip transportation from the Indianapolis International Airport to Bloomington is available through two shuttle companies, Bloomington Shuttle and Star of America and can be purchased online in advance. If using Bloomington Shuttle, please request a drop-off at the Willkie Residence Center. If using Star of America, please request a drop-off at the Read Residence Center. We will have a Summer Music Clinic staff member waiting at each of the respective stops to accompany all shuttle students to the dorm.
The Clinic Finale Concert on Saturday, June 15th should be completed by 4:00 PM. We recommend that for travel back home, you arrange a return shuttle for the earliest time after this concert. Because the Orchestra will be performing first, students in this ensemble will be available to take any shuttle after 2:30 PM. Students participating in either of the two Clinic Bands should plan on arranging for a shuttle that leaves after 4:15 PM. In addition, we recommend a flight out of the Indianapolis International Airport after 6:00 PM to allow for travel time and check-in at the airport.
Our Summer Music Clinic manager, Brett Richardson, will contact those students and families whom we anticipate will be traveling to Bloomington by air. Because we fully understand the anxiety of students traveling by air unaccompanied, please don’t hesitate to contact us through e-mail at iusmc@indiana.edu or by phone at 812.855.1372 if you have any questions or concerns.
Housing

a set of extra-long twin sheets (or a sleeping bag)

towels
-
rooms will not contain phones nor be equipped with internet access. Students are allowed to bring cell phones, although they will be required to be turned off during all classes, rehearsals, and concerts.
While in the residence hall, students will be highly supervised. Each floor will have multiple Summer Music Clinic counselors in residence living with the students.
