This intensive 6-day event is offered to talented percussionists. Applicants in grades 7 through 12 are invited to apply for the Pre-College Session. Applicants over 18 years of age are invited to apply for the Adult Session, with both offerings running concurrently.
Master classes, clinics, and performances will be presented by internationally-renowned performers. Sessions will include: audition techniques (for college and professional auditions), chamber music, sight reading, orchestral timpani and percussion, marimba, drum set, accessories, world percussion, career development, and much more!
Students will also perform in the IU Summer Percussion Ensemble, presenting
a 'grand finale' concert.

No audition required! However, all summer percussion academy/workshop participants must be able to read music (medium level difficulty or higher). If you have questions/concerns about this, please contact Professor John Tafoya, Director, at iuspaw@indiana.edu

Starting this summer, the Summer Percussion Academy/Workshop will only be held every other year (offered during "even" years). After the conclusion of the 2018 Summer Percussion Academy/Workshop, the next will be held in 2020. Succsessive years will be 2022, 2024, etc.
