Guitar Academy

Jacobs Guitar Academy

Youth Program

The Youth program is designed for students 5-18 years of age,Maestro regardless of previous musical experience. Individual Guitar lessons and ensemble sessions led by Jacobs School of Music faculty and instructors are offered for all young students.

Lessons are offered year-round for three semesters – Fall , Spring, and Summer. Lessons are given in two categories: Advanced and Regular. Advanced lessons are taught directly by the director, and regular lessons are taught by qualified instructors.

Building strong musical foundations and providing fundamentals of music for all students, the instructors and faculty of the Jacobs Guitar program follow flexible curricula to meet the individual needs of every participant. At the end of each semester, students are given the opportunity to showcase their accomplishments by performing at a Jacobs Guitar Academy recital in one of the professional concert halls at the Jacobs School of Music. Throughout the course of study, students are able to collaborate with other Year-Round Jacobs programs such as the String Academy, Young Pianists, and Ballet.

At the end of each year, the students are presented a Certificate of Completion from the Jacobs School of Music. For students moving to college enrollment, the Certificate is not only a record of acheivement for the year, but it is also a valuable reference for a college application process, showing the student's extracurricular activities and aquisition of artistic abilities regardless of the major area they choose to explore.Yth CertCertificate
