Young Pianists

Spring 2014 - January 13 to May 3
for ages 5-18

Dr. Karen Taylor, Director of the Piano Academy and Young Pianists Program, welcomes all prospective students and their families to the Young Pianists Program.

The Young Pianists Program is open to any student age 5 through the end of high school, who enjoy music and want to learn to play the piano. Our talented faculty have extensive pre-college training and work with students in one-on-one lessons, either two 30-minute lessons or one 60-minute lesson per week. The curriculum is customized to serve everyone from serious pre-professionals to those who want to pursue piano as a hobby. All students play in a recital each semester.

Transfer and beginner students are welcome. Auditions are not required, but new students may be asked to have a placement interview. Students who have been enrolled in Young Pianists for at least one semester are eligible to apply for a limited financial aid and/or artistic merit scholarship.

Also available are Saturday morning theory classes for students ages 9 to 18 (students do not need to be enrolled in the Young Pianists Program to enroll in the theory class). The Young Pianists Program offers 4 levels of Theory: Fundamentals, Advanced Fundamentals, Intermediate I and High Intermediate.
