Gwyn RichardsDear Subsriber,

It gives me great pleasure to announce the 2006-2007 IU Opera Theater and Ballet Theater Seasons and to give you an oppurtunity to prepare for one of the finest collections of opera and ballet performances in the nation. As a subscriber you are among the first to know about the exciting year ahead. Our offical announcement for the season will take place on April 7 at the opening of Carmen.

In September, our opera season opens with a new production of Mozart's masterpiece Don Giovanni, followed by Massenet's romantic Manon, and Humperdincks beloved Hansel und Gretel. We usher in Spring 2007 with a new production of two one-act operas: Busoni's Arlecchino and Penhorwood's Too Many Sopranos, followed by Strauss' unforgettable Arabella and Puccini's enduring Madama Butterfly. You won't want to miss any of these world-class productions!

Our ballet season next year is made up of the Fall Ballet, Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker, and in the Spring, Prokofiev's Cinderella, choregraphed in 2005 to great acclaim by Jacques Cesbron.

By renewing your opera subscription, you can guarantee the very best seats in the house. In addition, you'll receive the benefits of free ticket exchanges (subject to upgrades fees, if any), the privilege to renew your seats from season to season, free lost ticket replacement.
