BALLET SEASON OPENS WITH TWO PREMIERES

The IU Ballet Theater opens its 2005-06 season tonight and tomorrow night (Oct. 7&8) at 8 p.m. in the MAC. The performance will feature four striking pieces, highlighting the talents and artistry of the dancers and faculty in one of the country's leading programs. Scheduled are two pas de deux, both significant in the development of contemporary ballet, and two world premieres.

INDIANAPOLIS SYMPHONY COMES TO TOWN

The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra comes to Bloomington with a rare performance in the Musical Arts Center on Sunday, Oct. 30, at 3:00 p.m. The concert, featuring world-renowned pianist and School of Music professor Arnaldo Cohen, will be conducted by the ISO's Music Director Mario Venzago.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Fall Ballet opens tonight (Oct. 7) and features four striking pieces including two world premieres. The Concert and Symphonic Bands join forces to double your pleasure Oct. 11 and Gerhardt Zimmermann guest conducts the Symphony Orchestra Oct. 12. Don’t miss the Contemporary Vocal Ensemble as it opens its 25th season Oct. 14, as well as the world-renowned Mendelssohn String Quartet in a rare Bloomington appearance Oct. 16! And then, there are Concentus, the University Singers, the Chamber Orchestra, and many others...
