SOPRANO CAROL VANESS TO JOIN THE SCHOOL OF MUSIC
|
Carol Vaness, one of the most sought-after opera sopranos in the world, is set to join one of the world's pre-eminent voice programs. Vaness, who performs regularly at major theaters, opera houses and concert halls around the world and sang opposite Luciano Pavarotti in his celebrated final operatic performance, has been appointed to the Department of Voice.

INDIANAPOLIS SYMPHONY COMES TO TOWN |
The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra comes to Bloomington with a rare performance in the Musical Arts Center on Sunday, Oct. 30, at 3:00 p.m. The free concert, featuring world-renowned pianist and School of Music professor Arnaldo Cohen, will be conducted by the ISO's Music Director Mario Venzago.

The timeless story of Roméo et Juliette opens tonight at IU Opera Theater! The classical guitar sounds of Srdjan Tosic fill Auer Hall this Sunday and pianist Jean-Louis Haguenauer welcomes guest tenor Gilles Ragon for a recital on Monday. Don’t forget about the University Orchestra, conducted by Clifford Colnot on October 26, and composer David Dzubay premiering a new work at his October 27 faculty/student recital. Of course, there is so much more with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra on October 30, the Percussion, Jazz, and Wind Ensembles, and the Women’s Chorus, to name a few!
