| HELGA WINOLD AND MARIANNE KIELIAN-GILBERT RECEIVE HONORS |
 Two Jacobs School of Music professors were recently honored by the IU community. Helga Winold, cello, was the recipient of IU’s President's Award, and Marianne Kielian-Gilbert, music theory, received the 2008 Distinguished Scholar Award from the IU Office for Women's Affairs.

| IU OPERA THEATER CELEBRATES 60TH ANNIVERSARY |
Sixty years ago, the first Indiana University Opera Theater production took place in an auditorium that was built as part of an army barracks during World War II. This weekend (April 4-5), IU Opera begins celebrating its 60th anniversary with a reprise of that same opera, Les Contes d'Hoffmann -- except now it will be performed on a stage that rivals New York City's Metropolitan Opera House. >>Click here for more.

| IU BRASS CHOIR TO PERFORM IN GREENSBURG APRIL 6 AS PART OF MOVEABLE FEAST |
The Indiana University Jacobs School of Music continues IU's Moveable Feast of the Arts Series with a performance by the Indiana University Brass Choir on April 6 in Greensburg, Ind. The concert begins at 2:30p.m. in the Greensburg Junior High School Auditorium. >>Click here for more.

Don’t miss IU Opera Theater’s last production of the season, Les Contes d’Hoffmann, which opens tonight! Enjoy the IU Steel Drum Ensemble in Sweeney Hall Saturday evening, followed by a rite of spring as the Singing Hoosiers light up the IU Auditorium that night. Pianists André De Groote and Jean-Louis Haguenauer give a recital Sunday afternoon, and the University Chorale will be in full voice Sunday evening.
