| 2009-2010 IU OPERA AND BALLET THEATER SEASON ANNOUNCED |
Comedy, tragedy, magic, madness, jealousy, deceit and fantasy all will take center stage at IU Bloomington's Musical Arts Center during Indiana University Opera and Ballet Theater's 2009-2010 season. Among the highlights will be Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story, in celebration of the recent unprecedented gift from the family of Leonard Bernstein that contains the contents of his Fairfield, Conn., composing studio, and the history of Bernstein's long association with the Jacobs School. >> Click here for more.

| IU JACOBS SCHOOL OF MUSIC APPOINTS BASSOONIST KATHLEEN MCLEAN TO ITS FACULTY |
The Indiana University Jacobs School of Music announced April 23 the appointment of Kathleen McLean, one of the most acclaimed orchestral bassoonists in North America. She will join the Jacobs faculty roster as associate professor in the fall of 2009.

| JACOBS STUDENTS PLAY IN “YOUTUBE” CONCERT AT CARNEGIE HALL |
Indiana University Jacobs School of Music flutist Daniel Stein (left) and violist Dash Nesbitt took the stage at Carnegie Hall April 15 as part of the "YouTube Symphony Orchestra." The ensemble is composed of 80 musicians from 30 countries, all of whom auditioned for their spots through the popular video-sharing Web site. >>Click here for more.
