TOO MANY SOPRANOS
Set in Heaven and Hell

Written by an IU Jacobs School of Music faculty member, Too Many Sopranos is a two-act opera full of wonderful and romantic music. A group of sopranos is trying to get into Heaven, but there is no more room in the Heavenly Choir. So, something has to be done, and it looks like some will be sent to Hell!

ARLECCHINO
Set in Bergamo, Italy, in the 16th century

Arlecchino is a one-act comic fantasy in commedia dell'arte style in which the main character plays four parts. As a rogue, Arlecchino makes love to the wife of the tailor, Matteo, while the latter is reading nearby. As a soldier, he recruits Matteo into the army. As a husband, he quarrels with his wife and attacks her lover. As a conqueror, he elopes with Matteo's wife just as the old tailor returns from the army!

By arrangement with G. Shirmer, Inc., publisher and copyright owner

Sung in English with English supertitles.
Supertitles are a gift of the Mary Justine McClain Endowment.
