A tragic comedy in Two Acts, set in 17th-century Seville, Spain.

This Mozart gem is considered by many to be one of the greatest pieces ever composed. Billed as a dramma giocoso, or "playful drama," the opera portrays the original "love 'em and leave 'em guy." The legendary Don is always ready for the conquest, but terrified of commitment! (Sound familiar?) He is irresistible to women and the envy of men. Yet, in the end, there is one commitment he can't escape.

There will be a fifteen-minute intermission between the two acts.

Sung in Italian with English supertitles.
Supertitles are a gift of the Mary Justine McClain Endowment.
