Set in "Once upon a Time..."

Humperdinck's beloved fairy tale opera is based on the famous story by the Brothers Grimm. Lost in the woods, Hansel and Gretel stumble upon the house of a witch who bakes children into gingerbread! The witch casts a spell on them and puts Gretel to work while she feeds Hansel a diet of raisins to fatten him up. But instead of panicking, the children trick and outwit the witch. Like many other fairy tales, this is not just a children's story, but can be appreciated by children of all ages. It's a great way to introduce youngsters to the wonders of opera!

Sung in English with English supertitles.
