Cognate Field |
| 6 credit hours in one field within or outside the School of Music, with approval of the appropriate department chairperson and the Director of Graduate Studies. The student must meet the qualifications of a minor for the cognate field; only courses fulfilling requirements for a minor are acceptable. The cognate field may become a minor if at least 12 credit hours are taken in that field. |
