The distinguished American conductor Vance George has been instrumental in the premiere of some of the most important choral works of our time, and developed an outstanding career of performances and Grammy award-winning recordings. He visits the Jacobs School of Music between September 10 and September 21 to teach the graduate choral conducting classes.

Vance George will hold an Open Colloquium on the topic "American Choral Music Today," where he will share his impressions of the state of the profession for choral conductors and composers of choral music. The Colloquium is open to all interested students, faculty, and to the public, and will take place Saturday September 15, at 10:30 am in Sweeney Hall.
