Myron Bloom

Teaching Philosophy

"I base my approach to teaching on fundamentals: rhythm, articulation, dynamics, intonation, and rubato. If a student maintains focus of these elements, he or she will find it easier to produce a good tone; and good tone is the essential aspect of music. Only when these fundamentals are brought to a level of consciousness and control will a student be able to fully realize in both concept and performance that which a composer is saying.

"What we want is for each student to realize his or her potential in every possible way in order that each may experience fulfillment. We promote diversity, and maintain that every student must find his or her own true identity; some students have developed it, while others are still searching for it - I'm here to help each fully realize it."
