Teaching Philosophy
"I stress the necessity of learning to be a well-rounded musician; I believe it is much more important to teach total musicianship than to simply pursue horn technique. There are many ways to make a living as a horn player, and I want to make sure people are equipped to pursue any one of them. This versatility includes a total familiarity with the instrument, a significant musical vocabulary, the study of music of all periods and genres, and training on the natural horn as well as the valve horn."
