Alan Conrad
Alan Conrad is currently in his second year as director of bands at Lebanon High School in Indiana. Previously, he was director of bands at Northeast Dubois High School and Middle School. He holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Indiana University. Mr. Conrad performs throughout Indiana, and is a founding member of the Southern Indiana Wind Ensemble. At this year's Summer Music Clinic, Mr. Conrad will coach the horn section and assist in brass pedagogy.

Pam French
Pamela French is a professional oboist and teacher in the Indianapolis area. She is Adjunct Professor of Oboe at the University of Indianapolis, 2nd oboe/English horn with the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, and performs regularly as substitute with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. Ms. French was previously a full-time freelance musician in New York City, where she performed with many esteemed ensembles, including the New York Philharmonic, the New Jersey Symphony, the Orpheus Chamber Ensemble, and the American Composer's Orchestra. She was a regular oboist for the Broadway shows Cats, Ragtime, and Les Miserables, and for many commercial recordings. She is co-founder of the SONOS Chamber Orchestra of New York, and was a featured soloist on its premiere concert. Ms. French is a founding member of the Circle City Wind Quintet, comprised of members of the ISO. The quintet performs frequently as music educators for the Symphony, at schools, community centers, and for corporate meetings. Ms. French has a keen interest in musical outreach and education; she has served as an educator for the Manhattan School of Music, the New York Philharmonic, the Montana Summer Symphony, and Midori and Friends. Former faculty positions include Visiting Professor of Oboe, University of Virginia, and Assistant Professor of Oboe at her alma mater, the Manhattan School of Music in New York. She maintains a private studio of oboists in the Indianapolis area, and frequently coaches student ensembles at area schools. An Indianapolis native, Ms. French studied with Malcolm Smith, former Principal Oboist of the ISO, and she completed her Bachelors degree at Boston University, under the tutelage of Ralph Gomberg, former Principal Oboist of the Boston Symphony. Her Masters degree is from the Manhattan School of Music, where she studied with Joseph Robinson, then Principal Oboist of the New York Philharmonic. She is currently completing her Doctorate in Music from SUNY Stony Brook.

Jack Holt
Jack Holt is currently the Director of Bands at McCutcheon High School in Lafayette, IN. In addition to his teaching, he teaches private lessons in the Lafayette area as well as playing in the Lafayette Citizens Band during the summer months. He will be starting his masters degree with the American Band College through Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Oregon in June."

Pam Holt
Pam Holt is the Director of Bands at Maine East High School in Park Ridge, Illinois where she teaches two concert bands, beginning band, and music theory. As a bassoonist, she maintains an active private studio and most recently has played with the Indiana University Wind Ensemble. This is Ms. Holt's fifth year teaching bassoon and reed making at the Summer Music Clinic.

Nancy Hublar
Nancy Hublar has been involved with the Summer Music Clinic for many years. She was a clarinet faculty member then became head counselor for over 20 years. She is a graduate of the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and teaches clarinet privately in Indianapolis and has taught clarinet sectionals for several bands in the northeast part of the metropolitan Indianapolis area.

ChingYi Lin
ChingYi Lin has had an active performing career as both soloist and chamber musician not only in the United States but in Canada, Europe, and Taiwan. In addition to her violin training, she is an accomplished pianist and violist. Ms. Lin is a teaching assistant of the internationally renowned Professor Mauricio Fuks, teaching his undergraduate and Masters degree students at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. She is also an instructor in the IU String Academy, teaching violin and group lessons and working closely with professors Mimi Zweig and Brenda Brenner. Since last fall, she has been involved in the Fairview Project, acting as co-researcher, violin instructor, and piano accompanist. She also holds a teaching position at Meridian Music in Indianapolis. She is currently on track to finish her Doctorate in violin performance at Indiana in December 2009.

William Petersen
William Petersen joined the faculty of the Department of Music at Virginia Tech University in 2005 where he serves as Assistant Director of The Marching Virginians, Instructor of Tuba and Euphonium, and Director of the Hokies Pep Band and University Campus Band. In addition, Mr. Petersen teaches courses in aural theory, coaches chamber music, and serves as the tubist in the Virginia Tech Faculty Brass Quintet. He is co-sponsor for the Eta Beta chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi, National Honorary Band Service Fraternity. Mr. Petersen is active as an adjudicator, conductor, and clinician of marching and concert bands in several states. He has served as principal tubist of the Indiana University Wind Ensemble and has appeared as a tuba soloist in the Washington, D.C. area. Mr. Petersen has earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree and Master of Music (Wind Conducting) degree from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music where he was active in all areas of the Department of Bands, serving as Manager of the Summer Music Clinic and Director of the Soccer, WomenÕs Basketball, Volleyball, and All-Campus Bands. He has studied conducting with Stephen Pratt, Ray Cramer and Doug Stotter; marching band techniques and arranging with David Woodley; and tuba with the international renowned soloist and tuba pedagogue Daniel Perantoni.

In addition to his duties at Virginia Tech, Mr. Petersen serves on the faculty of the Indiana University Summer Music Clinic each June coaching euphonium, tuba and teaching courses in brass pedagogy and conducting. Mr. Petersen previously served as Assistant Director of Bands at La Porte High School in La Porte, TX. He holds memberships in CBDNA, NBA, MENC, VMEA, Kappa Kappa Psi and is an Honorary Member of Tau Beta Sigma, National Honorary Band Service Sorority.

Christine Peterson
Christine Peterson graduated from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music with a degree in piano. Since then, she has accompanied everything from alto flutes to xylophones. As a free-lance accompanist in the central Texas area, Ms. Peterson currently plays for both high school and college students.

Darlene Pratt
Darlene Pratt teaches clarinet and bass clarinet sectionals for the Summer Music Clinic and resides in Bloomington, Indiana, with her husband, Stephen, and their two children, Abby and Nathan. She received her Bachelor of Music Education and Masters of Music Education degrees at Indiana University where she was a student of Bernard Portnoy. She taught in the South Montgomery School Corporation and is a former band director at Harrison Junior High School in Merrillville, Indiana. Mrs. Pratt has had numerous private clarinet students and been a member of the Northwest Indiana Symphony, the Southwest Michigan Symphony, and the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra. Mrs. Pratt currently performs regularly with the Bloomington Pops Orchestra and in pit orchestras of local musical productions.

Brian Powell
Brian Powell is the Director of Orchestras at Eastern High School in Louisville, KY, and on the string faculty at Bellarmine University as their double bass instructor. Mr. Powell holds a Bachelors degree in Performance and a Masters degree in Teaching from Indiana University, and is in the doctoral program at the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati. He is a former member of the bass section of The New World Symphony, under the direction of Michael Tilson Thomas. As an educator from the elementary to collegiate levels, Mr. Powell works with well over two hundred string students every year. He maintains a thriving private bass studio and participates as a guest string clinician throughout the midwest. Mr. Powell is currently president-elect of Kentucky's state chapter of the American String Teachers Association.

Ruth Ann Ritchie
Ruth Ann Ritchie holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Indiana University and a Graduate Diploma from the Sydney (Australia) Conservatorium. Her teachers have included Thomas Robertello, Alexa Still, and Heidi Kushious. Ms. Ritchie has been on faculty at the Northern Arizona University Summer Music Camp (Flagstaff, AZ) and the Evergreen Music Festival (Olympia, WA). Currently residing outside of Dallas, Texas, Ms. Ritchie is a private flute instructor and sectional coach for the Plano Independent School District. She is also the founder and director of Astraios, a non-profit chamber music group dedicated to removing the barriers between performers and audiences.

Sharry Spicknall
Sharilyn Spicknall (Sharry) is a freelance musician. A violinist, violist, and pianist, she continues to sustain and enjoy a longtime and quite active performing career, being equally comfortable as a soloist, chamber musician, recording studio artist, orchestral musician, and accompanist.

Mrs. Spicknall's academic affiliations have included teaching positions at Indiana State University, Purdue University, DePauw University, Saint Mary of the Woods College, and over a decade in Indiana public schools . She has been a member of the string faculty with the Indiana University Band and Orchestra Clinic since 1990.

Cindy Watson
Cindy Watson holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree and a Masters of Music Education degree in Music Education from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. She has been the Orchestra Director at Shawswick Middle School in Bedford, Indiana, and Pointe South Middle School in Clayton County, Georgia. In addition to teaching private string lessons for over ten years, she has served as a string clinician at Walton High School, Druid Hills High School, and Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and worked as an adjudicator in Baltimore, Maryland. Mrs. Watson frequently performs with orchestras in the greater Baltimore area, including the Annapolis Chorale Chamber Orchestra, the Columbia Pro Cantare Festival Orchestra, the Maryland Philharmonic Orchestra, the Baltimore Philharmonia, where she served as principal violist for the 2008-2009 season, and also the Harrisburg and Lancaster Symphonies in Pennsylvania. Mrs. Watson first participated in the Indiana University Summer Music Clinic as a high school student in 1988, and has served as a counselor or a teacher almost every year since.

Glenn Williams
Glenn Williams is Fine Arts Department Chairperson at Downers Grove South High School in Downers Grove, Illinois. In addition to instructional leadership duties with visual art and music at Downers South, Mr. Williams also teaches Jazz Lab Ensemble, Wind Symphony and Concert Band Brass. Previously, Mr. Williams was the band director and K-12 Instrumental Music Coordinator at Forest Hills Central High School in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and the band director at Highland Park High School in Highland Park, Illinois. During his tenure in Highland Park, Mr. Williams also served as K-8 Instructional Associate for Music in North Shore District 112. During the summer months, Mr. Williams is on the brass/jazz faculty of the Indiana University Summer Music Clinic, and is a member of the jazz faculty at the Blue Lake International Fine Arts Camp in Twin Lake, Michigan.

As a professional performer, Mr. Williams has performed with numerous entertainment and jazz luminaries, including The Four Tops, Frank Sinatra, Jr., Michael Brecker, Kenny Wheeler, and the Blue Lake Faculty Jazz Septet. Mr. Williams has also performed with numerous community ensembles including the North Shore Concert Band. Mr. Williams now is a member of the music ministry at Glen Ellyn Bible Church in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, where he also serves as an Elder in the church community.

Mr. Williams is in demand as a clinician/adjudicator in throughout the Midwest, having recently judged regional and state festivals in Illinois, Michigan and Indiana. In January of 2008, Mr. Williams was part of a panel presentation at the Illinois Music Educators' State Convention discussing perpetuating student composition in the schools. In January of 2009, Mr. Williams presented a clinic on the Care and Feeding of the Emerging School Jazz band at the Illinois Music Educators' Association State Convention.

Mr. Williams is a recipient of Who's Who Among Americans and America's Teachers, and was a first round Golden Apple Award nominee in 1995. Mr. Williams is a member of MENC, IMEA and JEN. While a member of the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association, Mr. Williams served as the District 10 Vice-President of Jazz Activities from 1999-2005. Mr. Williams is currently the Jazz Audition Co-Chair for IMEA District 1.

A native of Denver, Colorado, Mr. Williams holds a bachelor degree in Music Education Indiana University-Bloomington, a Masters degree in Music Education from Northwestern University and a Masters Degree in Instructional Leadership from Concordia University-Chicago. Mr. Williams has also completed coursework towards a DMA in Wind Conducting at Michigan State University. Mr. Williams resides in Downers Grove with his wife, Terri, and their two children, Josiah and Allison.
