Open Interpretation Category


FIRST PRIZE
Melanie Mooney (flute) for her performance of Juan Orrego-Salas' Serenata Op.70, Roberto Gerhard's Capricio (1949), and Astor Piazzolla's "Bordel 1900" and "Café 1930" from Histoire du Tango. Her accompanists were David Cruz (cello) and Nicolas Farrugio (guitar).

SECOND PRIZE
Andrés Saborío Rodríguez (guitar) for his performance of Leo Brower's El decamerón negro, Juan Orreg-Salas' Esquinas Op.68, and Joaquín Rodrigo's Invocación y danza.

Chamber Ensemble Category

GRAND PRIZE

Indiana Clarinet Quartet (Jorge Montilla, Bb and Eb clarinets; Jennifer Everhart, Bb clarient; Slavador Oriola, Bb clarinet; Daniel Healton, bass clarinet) for their performance of Bernardo Adam Ferrero's Homenaje a Manuel de Falla, Astor Piazzolla's "Café 1930" from Histoire du tango (arranged by Bruce Edwards) and Tema de María de Buenos Aires y tango (arranged by Jorge Montilla), and arrangements by Hernan Dario of Carlos Vieco's Patasdilo, Miguel Matamoro's Son de la loma, and Moises Simons' El Manisero.
