Orrego Salas:
Commission for the American Presidents Summit
Orrego Salas has been commissioned a special work for the summit of American Presidents which will take place in Santiago de Chile in April 18,19, and 20 ,1998. The work, entitled "Himno a la Cordillera" for chorus and orchestra, uses a text by tthe composer.
"Himno a la Cordillera" will be premiered on April 18, and will be performed also the next two days. It will be performed by the United Choirs of the Universidad de Chile and the Universidad Católica de Chile, with a symnphony orchestra under the aegis of the Orquesta de Cámara de Santiago, directed by Fernando Rosas.
