The Positioning of the Authorial Voice of the
Corridista
in the Mexican Ballads

Abstract:

McDowell will discuss the positioning of the corridista, the composer of Mexican ballads, who in many cases seeks a middle ground for his or her authorial voice, hoping to strike a balance in the resulting narrative song and perhaps even reconcile the opposed factions.
