Abstract:
The American Composers Forum creates opportunities for living composers by cultivating broad-based networks of support for their work. Its landmark programs over the past 30 years have established new and lasting community partnerships through which commissioned music has become an important contributor to community sustainability. As we enter the 21st century, how are we to broker and nurture even stronger connections between the composer and her fast-changing culture?
