Andrew Lazaro

The Latin American Popular Music Ensemble continues the celebration of its 20th anniversary since its foundation as a student project, with a
concert with percusionist, composer and arranger Andrew Lázaro, who is well remembered by audiences in Bloomington as the popular director of the Latin Band Caribe Breeze. He also led the LAPME between 1995 and 1998.

Andrew will take some time from his very busy schedule as a performer and teacher to join the LAPME for a concert of ebullient copmpositions by Tito Puente and other greats, among some of his own pieces, as well
as two Brazilian jazz compositions by the LAPME's assistant director,
the young and talented Gustavo Bugni.
