American anthropologist whose research activities include music from Mexico; Chancellor’s Professor (Anthropology and Comparative Literature), Professor of Music (Ballet), and Adjunct Professor (Folklore, Russian-East-European Studies, Latin American and Caribbean Studies).
She is the author of The Anthropology of Dance (Bloomington: Indiana University Press, 1977), shown here in the reprint edition from 2002 (Alton, Hampshire, England: Dance Books, 2002).
