American ethnomusicologist whose research activities included music from Panama and Spain; former Faculty (Folklore), former Director (Ethnomusicology Program), former Director (Archives of Traditional Music), former Associate Dean (IU Office of Research and University Graduate School), and former Director (CIC Minorities Fellowship Program).
He is the author of the article “Arroz colorao: Los congos of Panama,” in Music and Black Ethnicity in the Caribbean and South America, ed. Gerard Béhague, 239-66 (Miami: North-South Center, University of Miami, 1994).
