Carmen Helena Téllez  

 

Venezuelan-American conductor whose performances, commissions, and premières include music from Latin America, Portugal, and Spain; Professor of Music (Choral Conducting), Director (Latin American Music Center).
She will conduct the collegiate première of an in-concert version of the chamber opera Ainadamar (Fountain of Tears) by the Argentinean composer Osvaldo Golijov on October 11th and 12th in Auer Hall. The opera deals with the life and death of poet Federico García Lorca.
