Altamiro Carrilho in Bloomington, Indiana

Living legend of choro and flute playing, Brazilian musician Altamiro Carrilho will participate in this year’s edition of the Lotus World Music & Arts Festival in Bloomington, Indiana.

Altamiro Carrilho has been a professional musician for 56 years. He's made over one hundred recordings during this time. Altamiro has performed in some of the finest theaters in the world with great success. This is the result of talent born to this extraordinary musician.

Mr. Carrilho will appear in concert on on Saturday, September 22, at 8:00 PM at the John Waldron Arts Center.

The festival comprises a series of events in different venues, and tickets for the Altamiro concert entitle their holders to sample other concerts scheduled for the same evening.

Mr. Altamiro will also hold a Master Class on Sunday, September 23, Sunday, at 12:00 noon at Sweeney Hall, located at the Simon Building (at the corner of Jordan Av. and Third St), in which the participants will be the members of Professor Gerardo Dirie's Latin American Popular Music Ensemble. Everyone is welcome to attend.
