Ernesto Bitteti's Performance at Chicago's Instituto Cervantes

On 18 September, 2004, guitarrist Ernesto Bitteti gave a performance of all-Latin solo guitar at the Instituto Cervantes in Chicago.

Bitetti was born in Argentina and has lived in Madrid since 1968. His performances extend to the five continents, playing in the most famous halls around the world. He has recorded with José Cura and Plácido Domingo. He chairs the Guitar Program at Indiana University's prestigious School of Music.

For this special performance, Bitetti played works by Isaac Albéniz (1860-1909), Heitor Villa-Lobos (1887-1959), Federico Moreno-Torroba (1891-1982), José Buenagu (b. 1936), Roland Dyens (b. 1955), and Astor Piazzolla (1921-1992).

Also on 14 December, 2004 in Terul Spain, Bitteti performed the Concierto Mudéjar by Spanish composer Anton García-Abril (b. 1933). The Concierto Mudéjar had been premiére by Bitteti himself in 1986 with the Orquesta de Cámara del Auditorio de Zaragoza under the direction of Juan José Olivares.
