Indiana University School of Music
Musicology Department "Graduate Financial Aid"

Graduate fellowships and assistantships are available on a competitive basis. Fellowships are currently valued at up to $15,000. Six assistantships are offered at $7,000, one assistantship at $6,000, and four at $4,650, plus fee remission scholarships (currently valued at between $6,228 and $8,997 for out- of-state students).

Given the limited number of graduate fellowships and assistantships in Musicology, applicants with good music theory skills are encouraged to interview for a graduate assistantship in Music Theory. This interview must be arranged through the Office of Music Admissions and may be scheduled for the same day as a candidates musicology interview.

Need-based Financial Aid is awarded through the Office of Student financial assistance. Consideration for need-based aid requires the completion of two applications: Free application for federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the financial Aid certification Sheet (FAC), available from the Office of Student Financial Assistance.
