SRC Projects
The Student Representative Committee (SRC) resolves student issues through various means, such as volunteer work, consultation with faculty and staff, and formal proposals to the School of Music. Along with addressing student concerns, the SRC hosts many events that help bring students, faculty, and staff all together. Most importantly, all music students are welcome to participate and get involved. It is our never ending goal to better the Jacob’s School of Music for everyone.

It is strongly encouraged to take a quick look at SRC projects from a few years ago. They serve as great examples of beneficial goals that members brainstormed on and worked on to achieve. The old SRC page for projects can be found here.

Future Projects: Fall '07

• September: SRC Makeover
  • This month is focused on revising the look of the SRC. First, SRC Officers and JSoM Committee Members will be determined. Also,the website will be overhauled and more creative posters will be designed for future meetings and events.
• October: Social Month
  • Towards mid-October, the SRC will start recruiting even more members. By the end of the month, our goal is to have every department represented at both the undergraduate and graduate level. Also, don't miss our annual Fall Social Event!

Past Projects: Fall '06 and Spring '07

• Ice Cream Social
  • April 25th (Wednesday of Dead Week)
  • The annual Ice Cream Social is coming soon! The SRC can always use more help sponsoring this fun filled event for all music students
• Chik-Fil-A Social
  • The SRC hosted a free Chik-Fil-A meal for all music students to enjoy and chat over.
• Performance Ensemble Evaluations
  • During the month of Feburary, a detailed survey of current performance ensembles was created and distributed by the SRC. These results will be compiled and presented to appropriate departments in the school to consider changes.
• New Ballet Stage
  • A new ballet stage was installed as a result of the SRC's activism on the behalf of the ballet department. Cinderella was the inaugural performance for the stage.
• Meeting with The Dean
  • Dean Richards met with SRC and music students alike to discuss the future of the Jacob's School of Music and address any concerns.
